The revitalisation of Pakenham Station forms part of Victoria’s Big Build Level Crossing Removal Project, a transformative infrastructure project aimed at improving safety, easing congestion and enhancing the commuter experience across Melbourne rail network.
The new Pakenham Station was designed by Genton and delivered by John Holland. It reflects a contemporary urban design approach, merging architecture with functional durability, and rejuvenates the busy pedestrian and shopping precinct with improved connections.
Anston (then SVC Urban) was called upon to supply custom concrete seating to furnish the new station forecourt. These consisted of custom-coloured concrete seat tops and seat bases produced in a sleek charcoal finish with an eye-catching Golden Beach stone aggregate, designed to integrate seamlessly with the station’s modern palette. The seats deliver both performance and aesthetic appeal and will withstand the demands of high commuter traffic without compromising on aesthetic.
