Residents of Doncaster can rejoice, with a new public park now available at Hepburn Reserve.
Back in 2002, the Doncaster Hill Strategy by the Manningham City Council identified the need for a new park to create a green buffer within the surrounding high-density residential zones, providing much needed open spaces to residents. Hepburn Road was the proposed site and thus Hepburn Reserve was born.
Following a consultative process to define the current and future community needs for the new park, construction commenced in September 2023. Works were completed by August 2024 and the park’s grand opening was celebrated with a festive community day of family-friendly activities.
Offering various amenities for leisure and recreation, Hepburn Reserve is the perfect space for play or relaxation. Park facilities include ample outdoor seating and a BBQ area situated on a robust, attractive pavement of banded Anston pavers, featuring a trio of colours in Indi, Riviera and Mimosa. Other park features include drinking fountains, public art, large open lawn areas and a play space.
These facilities, supplemented with Anston’s high quality architectural concrete pavers, give the park a vibrant urban character and unique identity. Hepburn Reserve has since been embraced by local residents and sets a great precedent for future open spaces in the City of Manningham.
