No, Anston pavers are not straight-sided. Each edge of the paver bears a 2.5mm taper, ensuring the product is easy to demould during production.

This means that the top surface of every paver is slightly smaller than the base.

When installing our standard concrete pavers on a solid base, we recommend installing pavers with a 3mm gap between the adjacent paver at the base, which will result in an 8mm-wide grout line.

Please view our Video Guide to Installing Pavers for more information.

Anston's standard concrete pavers are available to order in 28 beautiful colours, offering a variety of aesthetic styles such as traditional concrete, sparkling granite or bold exposed aggregate.

Anston's standard, most popular finish for all our concrete paving products is a shot-blasted finish, which highlights the beautiful, sensuous texture of concrete.

Customers can select from a light, medium or heavy level of shot-blasting. Light blasting results in a smoother texture and heavy blasting results in a rougher, grittier textured finish.

For products made using our EcoPebble, Ironstone or Mineral Range colours, a heavier level of blasting will reveal more of the stone aggregate in the mix.

Certain paving products can be further enhanced with a honed finish, where the surface of a shot-blasted product is ground to remove the roughness of the shot-blasted texture. This achieves a silky smooth finish that is pleasing to the touch. Honed finishes are only available for select sizes.

Our standard pricing for pavers includes a shot-blasted finish. Additional fees apply for honing of pavers.

All Anston products are made to order, requiring a minimum lead time for production. If you do not have a trading account with Anston, we will not be able to commence production of your order until we receive a deposit payment.

Once the order is confirmed and we have received your deposit payment, the typical lead time for our standard paving is 4-6 weeks. However, this may be impacted by other factors such as order volume, existing work log and delivery location. Smaller orders may be able to be produced in a shorter timeframe.

To ensure accurate lead times, please confirm with your Anston representative at the time of enquiry.

Anston's standard concrete pavers should be installed on a solid sub-base, using an appropriate adhesive to ensure good adhesion and to prevent major movement. Expansion joints and control joints must be incorporated into the pavement to allow for slight product movement and shrinkage, which is a common characteristic of concrete in the outdoor environment.

For best results, we recommend engaging a certified professional paving or landscaping contractor to complete your paving installation. Skilled builders and landscapers will be well trained and equipped with the right tools to achieve a desirable, beautiful outcome.

Concrete has a tendency to move and expand in the outdoor environment. Similarly, the ground itself is also prone to movement and expansion.

Groutline cracking generally occurs due to pressure from the movement of pavers, which is often because of the concrete shrinking or expanding in response to changing weather conditions.

To account for slight product movement, it is essential to use sawcuts (control joints) and expansion joints within your pavement installation. Certain grout products are also more suited for use with concrete pavers, as they are more flexible and can withstand a higher level of movement.

It is important to note that there is no way to completely eliminate the risk of groutline cracking when installing pavers. For best results, ensure you're doing all you can to reduce this possibility!

With any outdoor product, it is important to employ a regular cleaning routine to ensure your Anston pavers stay looking pristine for many years.

Our pavers can be cleaned using a stiff broom, or with a high-pressure hose to remove stubborn dirt or grime. Due to the textured surface of our shot-blasted pavers, any stains on the surface will eventually seep deeper into the product if left to sit. We recommend cleaning up stains as soon as possible to avoid deep set stains that may become more costly to remove.

If you're having trouble with removing aged stains or grime, it may be time to engage a professional cleaning contractor to clean and seal the pavers. Cleaning professionals have access to a wider range of equipment and cleaning agents, as well as the expertise to effectively achieve the best results.
