The rejuvenation of Monash University Clayton’s North West Precinct was a prominent development within the university’s broader campus masterplan. Delivered by Outlines Landscape Architecture, the project uses an integrated landscape to connect campus buildings with broad walkways and plentiful open areas for students and visitors to congregate.
Located in the heart of the Science precinct is Lyons Architects’ award-winning Greener Chemical Futures building, which features a large courtyard that spills out onto the public campus square. Geometric timber benches and creamy white Hex concrete seats provide a variety of spaces for group and individual seating. The hexagonal paving in the courtyard complements the hex seats, drawing a connection to the sharp lines and geometry of the building itself.
