This contemporary design is a reflection of the client’s wishes for a stunning garden that is functional as well as dramatic when viewed from inside the home.
The outdoor kitchen undercover in the alfresco area is in close proximity to the beautiful pool. A seating area with a focal fire pit allows for a separate gathering area, much appreciated by the teenagers. Seating is also provided behind the pool, on either side of the water feature as a spot to gather. Linking elements such as using the same stone for the internal fireplace and the water feature wall behind the pool were taken into consideration.
Design elements include long wide steps as entry to the pool area, also providing occasional seating, a vegetable garden space in raised corten beds and fruit trees for seasonal harvesting. The front garden was kept minimal with a strong entry path of concrete steppers through gravel and moss.
“Careful consideration was given to transverse the change of levels across the garden, which resulted in each garden area being clearly defined.”
