The prestigious $120 million development of the new St John of God Hospital in Berwick is equipped with state of the art facilities, and is part of a major health precinct that services one of Victoria’s fastest-growing communities.
Hansen Yuncken were appointed the Design and Construct contractor for the project and have delivered an impressive scope of works. Three colours of Anston paving – Vega, Atlas and Mimosa – are used in alternation, creating an interesting pattern that features prominently throughout the external courtyards. Separate paving stepper strips nestle within the turf, linking the main paved area to the children’s playspace.
A notable feature of this project is the laying of the pavers on pedestals, which eliminates the need for grout or glue as each paver is individually supported. The resulting finish shows strikingly clean lines between each paver.
