Aurum Show Garden, MIFGS 2023

By MINT Pool + Landscape Design, Landscape Design Practice

“Unashamedly hedonistic and glamorous, yet grounded in nature.”

Designed by Mint Pool & Landscape Design for the 2023 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, Aurum (meaning gold in Latin) is a contemporary show garden that draws influence from modernist and art deco design styles. The decadent garden showcases beautiful materials and a luxuriant plant palette within a series of interactive spaces that are elegant and welcoming.

Anston was included in the group of project sponsors that contributed high quality architectural materials and plants for construction, successfully transposing Mint’s vision for Aurum into reality. The resulting show garden exhibits blended hardscaping and softscaping elements that seamlessly integrate to form a cohesive space.

Anston herringbone paving, in the creamy tones of Pebble Range Dune, draws bold lines in the flooring of the alfresco dining area and outdoor contemplative space. Over by the pool, Dune is utilised once again in the form of sleek wall cladding, providing a backdrop for the daybeds in the open-air lounge.

Aurum received glowing recognition by the MIFGS judging panel and show visitors alike, as evidenced by its impressive list of accolades:

  • Gold Medal in the Show Gardens competition
  • Innovative Design Award
  • Construction Award
  • People’s Choice Award
